Elliott & Lefler Community Learning Centers
2004-2005 Action Plan Summary

The 2004-2005 Action plan for the Elliott and Lefler Community Learning Centers was developed in collaboration with funders, school and community partners, families, students, and by utilizing surveys from parents, families, and teachers.

First Priority: Improve Student Learning and development by supporting before and after school programming; providing multiple experiential learning opportunities, supporting cultural and linguistic heritage; improving the health and well being of students; and using school academic and behavioral supports within all youth programs.

Programming includes:

Collaborative partners include: American Red Cross, Asian Community & Cultural Center, Clyde Malone Community Center, Elliott School, Faces of the Middle East, Heart of Lincoln, Hispanic Community Center, Homestead Girl Scouts, Lefler School, Lincoln Interfaith Council, The Lighthouse, Lincoln Community Playhouse, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center, Title I Programs, YMCA, YWCA, and other community based organizations.

Second Priority: Strengthen Families by providing opportunities for families to come together for positive and enriching activities and programs, and connecting families to supportive services.

Programs Include:

Collaborative Partners include, Elliott SNAC, Elliott School, Lefler SNAC, Lefler School, Lincoln Children’s Museum, Lincoln Community Playhouse, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center, YMCA, and other community based organizations.

Third Priority: Develop Healthier Neighborhoods by providing adult educational opportunities, connection to resources and information about housing programs, promotion of health, fitness, and wellness programs, and School Neighborhood Advisory Committee support.
