Welcome to Lincoln Community Learning Center at Norwood Park Elementary schools.
As the supervisor for these CLC sites, I can help you be aware
of the services available in your community.
If you reside in or near the Norwood Park School district
and are interested in accessing/utilizing a service or program
available in Lincoln or if you are a parent who would like
to enroll your child in a CLC after school or summer program,
you may download the forms you will need here.
At both sites we provide at structured care for your child
after school. Norwood Park School also has a before-school
program that serves children starting as early as 7 a.m. Our
before and after school programs are facilitated with school-based
curriculum and pre-planned lessons to ensure that the children
enrolled are engaged in an educational, yet exciting approach
to learning.
In order to make possible and uphold the growing academic
needs of children, we offer a “club” time for
an hour a day at each site. Certified LPS teachers as well
as community volunteers direct these clubs with content ranging
from core subjects such as math, reading, science and health,
to hip-hop, sports and girl/boy scouts.
We encourage consistency throughout the program by maintaining
and implementing rules and/or expected behaviors for each
child in the program, as they would be expected to follow
in their own classroom on a daily basis. Our goal at Norwood
Park is to offer an “extension” to their school
day education and activities. We strive to bring in stimulating
and motivational lessons that will promote your child’s
learning after their normal school day is over.
Lincoln Community Learning Centers are a vital link between
citizens and community services, and as a site supervisor
I will ensure that the array of programs available are delivered
to the people who need them.
Thank you for your time,
